Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book is a magnificent collection of prose and poetry by the acclaimed Spanish author Casimiro del Collado. Born in Santander, Spain in 1826 to a poor family, del Colladoâs early life was defined by struggle. Despite his humble beginnings, he went on to write prolifically in multiple genres, including poetry, drama, and narrative. Prosecuted for his liberal leanings, del Collado lived in exile in Mexico for some time, where he became an iconic figure in the Romantic movement. The breadth of del Colladoâs work and mastery of literary form is on full display in this volume. Readers will encounter formally structured poems that engage with themes such as love, loss, exile, and the nature of existence. The collection begins with examples of del Colladoâs early work, heavily influenced by the Romantic eraâs focus on emotionality and the individual experience. As the volume progresses, del Colladoâs style evolves, embracing a more concise, classical approach characterized by strong imagery and a focus on the human condition. In both styles, del Collado reveals himself to be a master of language, using metaphor and allusion to create rich and evocative descriptions. This book will appeal to scholars of Spanish literature, poetry enthusiasts, and anyone interested in the work of a writer whose insights into the human experience remain compelling today. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format.
