CONDITION: Attractively rebound with gilt decoration and lettering on the leather spine and corners. Marble patterned paper covered boards with matching marble patterned endpapers. The cover is without wear and is very pleasing. Tight binding but with brown spotting on title page and on several pages of text. Light brown discolouration throughout. There are inscriptions on 11 pages, mostly brief annotations and all are in the page margins. There is a 3 cm tear at side edge of page 307 and a printing fault at the outer base corner of page 260 with inaccurate cutting and the corner has been neatly folded back. 323 pages. Scarce copy of this early publication. 'Very good' condition in view of its antiquity.
