    Condition: Good. 364 p., plus 6 p. of "English Readings for Students;" pages are clean but there are occasional underlinings and marginalia in light pencil; former owner's name is on front end paper; cracking between pp. 24 & 25-- binding, however is firm and book is square; no d.j. so there is some smudging of beige boards with red lettering and escutcheon; spine is faded and rubbed at crown and foot; paper mildly age-toned but of good quality and quite strong; among the authors represented are Edgar Allan Poe, R. D. Blackmore, John Ruskin, George Eliot, James M. Barrie, Henry David Thoreau, Francis Parkman, Charles Darwin, Thomas Babington Macaulay, Alphonse Daudet, Theodore Roosevelt, Alice Meynell, Matthew Arnold and many others.
