Fitch read his diary and told John Maloney the Nanjing Rape story. Maloney had worked earlier as a staff member at the Shanghai Y.M.C.A., where Fitch was the director. Maloney published the article in "Ken" Magazine. It shocked the world ! . Fitch spent 80 years as a Missionary in China, he was also very was fluent in Chinese. He was born of missionary parents in China in 1883, and served as director of various Y.M.C.A. [Young Men's Christian Association] throughout north China. . He was resident Y.M.C.A. director in Nanjing, and friends with Dr. Sun Yat-sen, Premier Tong Shao-yi, and later Mao Tse-tung & Zhou En-lai, to mention just a few of the famous people he communicated with. . *** A THIRD ESSAY :"THE JAPANESE VERSION" OF THE "RAPE, MURDER AND BURNING OF NANJING" .
