64 pages. Paperback: H 27.75cm x L 20.25cm. White paper covers with foxing which is strongest along spine. Light toning and foxing to top edge; past owner's ink signature on frontis's blank recto; interior pages are otherwise clean. Binding retains some crispness. Else a very good copy. Errata slip is not present (its inclusion cited by Harvard Library catalog). With color frontispiece, b/w illustrations, Lenders to the Exhibition, Foreword by Charles W. Millard, Introduction and essay by Michael Klein, Notes, Chronology of Exhibitions, and Catalog of the Exhibition (pages 23-63). Published as the accompanying catalog for an exhibition held at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden from September 16 to November 14, 1976.

Nordland was a museum director, art critic, educator and author. Dean of the Chouinard Art Institute (1960-64), Director of the San Francisco Museum of Art (now SFMoMA (1966-73), Milwaukee Art Museum (1977-85), and the UCLA Wight Art Gallery (1973-77). He is the author of over 60 publications, including books on Lachaise, Nakian, Diebenkorn and Frank Lloyd Wright.
