Condition: Very good. First Edition. Catalog of upcoming publications from Covici Friede, founded by editors Pascal Covici and Donald Friede, most notable for their longstanding relationship with John Steinbeck. This catalog features THE MIGHTY BARNUM by Gene Fowler, THE WORLD AS I SEE IT by Albert Einstein, PORTRAIT OF AMERICA by Diego Rivera, and a number of other volumes, many on the subjects of politics and current events. Wraps. 16mo. Publisher's printed wraps. Minor edgewear and rubbing to wraps. Interior bright and clean. Very good. 60pp.

Soft cover. Condition: Near Fine. Scarce original trade catalogue for this important publisher, especially interesting for its Steinbeck items. 64 pages, plus a four-page sheet inserted in the middle (between pages 32 and 33 titled "Supplementary Fall Books" which includes one Steinbeck title, the dramatized version of Tortilla Flat by Jack Kirkland, designated as appearing in December. Other Steinbeck material is on offer, too, notably the limited issue of the Red Pony and the dramatic version of Of Mice and Men. Steinbeck's backlist is also listed on p. 45. A useful bit of Steinbeck ephemera.
