78x55 cm. Mounted on a stiff board. Some adhesion loss to left and bottom margins. Damage to two letters of title at the top. Wear along an earlier center fold. Image of five vignettes of dramatic scenes with a central image of two men dueling outdoors in winter captioned "Act 4th. The Duel in the Snow"; two scenes of men and women in a parlor, presumably courting, captioned "Act 1st." and "Act 2d."; a fist fight between men in tuxedos at the bottom of a grand staircase with party guests looking on, captioned "Act 3d. The Insult."; and a woman crying in a parlor while a little girl pulls at her father's arm, captioned "Act 5th. 'Papa Kiss Mama!'" with three inset images of two older men and a young woman in a mourning veil captioned "The Widow" Printed by the H. A. Thomas Lith. Studio, 112 Fourth Avenue, N.Y. This poster advertises the play in general, not a performance at a specific theater. The Duel in the Snow image has been reproduced many times. This is a classic theatrical poster from the early days of chromolithography. ABE customers: Large poster which must be shipped flat will require additional shipping charges.
