First Edition
Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine dj. Illustrated by (dj design) Carmela Cohen (illustrator). First American Edition. [minor shelfwear only, one-time owner's name/address label affixed to front endpaper; the jacket shows just a touch of surface wear, and has some minor creasing at the top of the rear panel]. (B&W photographs) "An in-depth examination of Fellini's career, covering all of his films, complete with casts, credit, synopses and production notes. Hundreds of photographs illustrate the text, including stills from all the Fellini films and candid off-camera shots." (Of course, because the book was published when Fellini was still active, "all" only covers through AND THE SHIP SAILS ON (1983); in fact, the final chapter, on that film, must have been specially written for the American edition of the book, which was originally published in Italy in 1981. While this certainly makes the book "incomplete," Fellini only made three additional features during his remaining years, and I don't think anybody is prepared to argue that they were among his best work.) ****NOTE that additional postage charges will be assessed for international shipping of this heavy book; if this concerns you, please contact us for a shipping quote before placing your order.
