Nice dust jacket has a small tape spot top right corner that may not show in scan. Offers a brief history of the "exaggerated" picture postcard, and how it captured many facets of life in turn-of-the-century small-town America. During the early years of this century the tall-tale postcard flourished in the American Midwest. In design, close-up photographs of ordinary-size produce and/or animals were combined--in skewed scale--with photos of people. Painstaking scissor-work resulted in hilarious, proto-surreal shots: Size: 9h x 9w. Book.
