Size of trimmed down (gold-printed Dabbs' mounting card): 15 3/16" x 12 1/8", size of brown-toned, mounted photographic print of a Victorian house: 13" x 9 5/8". The house has been photographed from the street at an angle, two male figures are present on the front porch, an older, standing figure with a mustache & a younger seated figure in a military-type jacket. Top edge of the front of the mounting card has former owner's signature (C. A. Wunderly) in pencil, this is partly trimmed away; corners of this card show wear, chipping, dust to card margins, some dusting, signs of light erasure, scratch to the surface of the photograph; back of card with the Dabbs name & address, shows some penciling, dusting & age-tanning. We have been unable to determine if Pittsburgh photographer Benjamin L. H. Dabbs, was connected with this photo, or supplied the Dabbs' (of Philadelphia) photographic mounting card; and are also unsure if "Tremaine and Hammond" were photographers or printers, or if this once referred to a location. This photo appears to have been framed at one time, but is relatively unfaded. Scan shows the photographic image. From the personal collection of Pittsburgh fine arts dealer, Charles A. Wunderly (this is possibly the Wunderly home and Charles is the seated young man with older brother August, or his father, Louis, who originally settled in Alleghany, Pennsylvania).
