Hard Cover. Condition: Good binding. 12mo. vi, [2],333, [1 (blank)], 2 (ads), 16 (ads) pp., frontis. First edition. In publisher's embossed cloth with title on the spine; mounted frontispiece of Jackson is present. Binding is soiled with moderate wear including a tear in the cloth at the top of both joints; fraying to spine ends and corners; light to moderate soiling; scattered foxing, otherwise contents are clean. All in all a relatively solid copy of the first volume of a scarce first edition of this important biography. "Written by a member of Jackson's staff, with the help of Jackson's family.
