Soft cover. Condition: Poor. See photos for condition details. Softcover, original 1903 publication - not a modern reprint or rebound library copy. Book appears to be missing entire exterior (which is why condition has been graded as poor) but all internal pages are present and attached. Paper is toned due to age and there is some light foxing and spotting present. No handwriting or library markings, no signatures. Page 7 is stamped "F. C. Schrader, U. S. Geological Survey, Washington, D.C.". Frank Charles Schrader (1860-1944) of Harvard and the United States Geological Survey (USGS) was a well-known and respected American geologist, mineralogist, and entomologist, and author. He was known throughout the west as the prospector's friend and was also one of the first federal geologists to explore Alaska.
