Dustwrapper somewhat edgeworn and sunned; ownership and gift inscriptions to front endpaper; trace of foxing to endpapers. Very good condition, in a good dustwrapper. "An architect who paints as his hobby, Claassen is in many ways an enigma, a contradiction of the pre-conceived image of a rugby player whose roots can be traced to the Afrikaner hinterland of Northern Transvaal. He is scholarly and intelligent and keenly questioning of the world around him. His first-class rugby career lasted for 12 years; through the calm days of Northern Transvaal's golden era until he moved to Natal in 1980 and became the captain of the Springboks in 1981. He was an enquiring witness during one of the most eventful periods in South African rugby history and is therefore eminently well qualified to set down the record and also to offer thought-provoking recommendations for the future.".
