XIXe s.), tranches jaspées, exemplaire grand de marges, petite déchirure marginale à la première planche. Bel exemplaire. Les planches, dont deux sont dépliantes et de très grand format, illustrent deux interventions (déjà exposées dans les deux ouvrages antérieurs de l'auteur) : 1°). Description de l'intervention pratiquée sur Ch. Delacroix, le père du peintre, qui était atteint depuis quatorze ans d'un "sarcocèle monstrueux au testicule gauche [?] du poids d'environ trente-deux livres". Des huit officiers de santé appelés en consultation, Imbert-Delonnes fut le seul à juger l'intervention réalisable. Celle-ci dura deux heures et demie, fut couronnée de succès et fit beaucoup jaser. Il fut considéré comme impossible que Charles Delacroix ait pu, deux mois avant l'intervention, engendrer son fils Eugène, d'autant plus que cet ancien ministre avait été évincé par Taleyrand et envoyé à La Haye. Lacour-Gayet trouva d'étonnantes ressemblances entre les portraits d'Eugène Delacroix et celui de Taleyrand conservé au Musée Condé ! 2°). Description d'une intervention de chirurgie plastique sur une volumineuse tumeur cutanée du nez réalisée sur le maire d'Angoulème. Larrey, dans sa Clinique Chirurgicale, rendit hommage à l'auteur, qui eut « le mérite d'avoir franchi la barrière élevée par l'opinion des grands médecins, en portant avec hardiesse l'instrument tranchant sur le sarcocèle de Charles Delacroix » et Velpeau, dans ses Nouveaux Elements de médecine opératoire rapporte également cet « exemple extrêmement remarquable » de « tumeur éléphantiasique du nez ». Ange Bernard Imbert-Delonnes (1745-1820), né à Vacqueyras (Vaucluse), devint docteur en médecine de la faculté de Caen, puis chirurgien en chef de la Succursale impériale des Militaires Invalides d'Avignon, et inspecteur-général du service de santé des armées.
