Printed on Abbey Mills paper and numbered #20 of 100, signed by the author. Red cloth hardcover with bound-in silk bookmark. Overall in Good condition. Cover boards show moderate wear and fading, interior has foxing (most heavily to endpapers and near front and back), else interior pages are clean and unmarked. "Glimpses" is a collection of fictional stories and sketches by Eric Partridge (1884-1979), inspired by his survival serving in the Australian Imperial Forces during WW2. He was a famous New Zealandand-British lexicographer of the English language, particularly of its slang.This book is an example of his earlier, creative phase during the late 1920s when he experimented with fiction and ran his own independent publishing house.
