This copy was inscribed and signed, in Hebrew, by Dimitrovsky to his friend Rabbi David Mandelbaum after the Jewish New Year, since he signs it with "Gmar Khatima Tova." For some reason Mandelbaum or someone else tried to cover the inscription, but after half a century the original writing can be seen through the magic marker.

This is a valuable contribution to the study of education in the rabbinic period and provides an evocative overview of some of the more important subjects, such as conceptions of education, the roles of rabbis and teachers, the nature of the teaching process, and depictions of the schools and academies.
