This book, printed in 1763, includes two parts (volumes), describes what Prince Charles Edward, "Bonnie Prince Charlie," did after he escaped from the battle at Culloden, leaving all his personal possessions behind, moving secretly from place to place, hunted by government forces and helped and sheltered by believers. Includes fold-out engravings of the Battle of Culloden, the embarcation of the Prince in 1746. Much of the drama of the period comes through this account as if the author is looking over his shoulder for unseen enemies as he writes.
