This is an old cute dog fiction childrens story book called Pie Face, copyright 1947, hard cover, no dust jacket, written by Velma Doreith, with illustrations by Diana Thorne. The book is in fair condition and has bumped corners and edge wear, previous owner scotch taped first and last end page to boards and has been front and back hinge taped, last page with small chip and library spine taped cover, otherwise this book has wonderful illustrations and good reading copy. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

Some surface removal on the back board, an inch at the very top, see pictures. The book has an inch tear at the top of the spine. The staples on the inside front board and back board have pulled loose, but the inside contents are solid.

Owner's inscription in ink to the endpaper, "Pie Face" and "Butch" in ink to the rear endpapers, page edges toned slightly, the spine paper is split for about 2" near the foot, with some wear to the spine extremities, a touch of rubbing to the cover corner tips, thus Fair to Good (-) onlycondition; no dust jacket perhaps as published. 8.25 x 7.5" hardcver with cover illus of a Scottish terrier eating a ctream pie, with red background, illus end papers, no page numbers, [40]pp, colour illus. A pie loving dog becomes a hero as he foild a thief. (1.3 JM LVR 202/b4 Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾".

The binding is strong with all pages firmly attached. A couple of pages have a small, dog-eared fold on the corner and there is a teeny chip on the bottom corner of about half of the pages. The pages are otherwise clean with no writing. The title page shows 1947 as the published date. The spine is fully intact. The red dust jacket has a color illustration of a Scottie dog with pie on his face. The dust jacket shows light edgewear and light crease marks (No Chips). I have placed the DJ in a fresh mylar jacket and this old book looks and feels great! We always ship in a sturdy cardboard box!
