No Binding. Condition: Very Good. Divided back Black and white, 3.5 X 5.5 Ralph Russell Doubleday (1881 - 1958), born Edward Cochran, was a pioneering American rodeo photographer. His big break came in 1910 at Cheyenne Frontier Days. Throughout his 40-year career, Doubleday documented rodeos across the U.S., creating more than 4,000 negatives and an estimated 30 million postcards, all of which contributed to elevating rodeo to a major spectator sport. His work is archived at the Dickinson Museum Center in Dickinson, North Dakota and the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City, where he was inducted into the Rodeo Hall of Fame in 1988. He also ran a photo studio in Dickinson from 1914 to 1920.
