Michaud qui aura l'honneur de vous présenter les deux fils et vous jugerez de ce qui convient le mieux, sauf à revenir à la suite pour le cadet lorsqu'il sera d'un age plus formé pour profiter de l'instruction du Lycée. Si le Père était en état de payer la pension de l'un, je lui dirais de le faire, mais les pertes qu'il a faites l'ont obligé de vendre la maison à Pontarlier et de se retirer à la campagne et s'il est possible de faire quelque chose d'extraordinaire cela ne tirera pas à conséquence, vu les services du Général Michaud et ceux du général Michaud [d'arcan ? ] qui n'a pas jouï longtemps de la place de Sénateur" [ Droz évoque sur une page le rétablissement de l'Académie, les remarques du Préfet à ce propos, il évoque M. LeFevre ] "Ayant été pendant 40 ans a portée de reconnaître l'utilité du premier établissement, je mourrai content dès que l'on aura repris le continuation du Recueil des Monumens de notre histoire, que j'avais proposé avant que M. Bertin s'en occupe pour la France entière et que j'avais bien avancé sous ses auspices" [. ] "j'espère que nous n'oterez point ce terme de féodalité de votre Dictionnaire quand il ne restera quand il ne restera qu'un tribut rendu au génie aux talens ou a la beauté. Intéressant L.A.S. attribuable au juriste et érudit Nicolas Droz (né à Pontarlier en 1735, mort à Saint-Claude en 1805), dans laquelle il parle du Général Michaud, mais aussi du rétablissement prochain de l'Académie ("des sciences, belles-lettres et arts de Besançon et de Franche-Comté"), qui sera effectif l'année suivante, en 1804. Nicolas Droz avait été nommé en 1771 secrétaire perpétuel de l'ancienne Académie, supprimée en 1793. Il était l'oncle du savant Joseph Droz. Langue: Français. signé par l'auteur.
