I t recounts the fortunes of men like Major Samuel Strickland in Ontario and the follies ofothers like the Honourable Monty Elphinstone, would-be squire of Manitoba. It deals with the colonial colleges, training ranches and emigration leagues which catered to public school Old Boys, and with the aristocratic utopias that were established in the Canadian West.
