Octavo (18cm); green cloth-covered boards with titling stamped in gilt on spines; green topstain; green endpapers; xx,[8],9-125,[1]pp; [3],4-160,[2]pp; [3],4-156,[2]pp; [3],4-184,[2]pp; [3],4-176,[2]pp; black-and-white photographic halftones and colorful illustrations throughout. Volume I in English and German, with Volume II-V in German only. Trivial surface wear to all five volumes, else Near Fine. Publisher's green cloth-covered slipcase has modest shelf-wear and -soil, with tiny chip to pictorial paper label; Very Good. Reprint of Gould's works with this Limited Edition including a new English foreword by Scott in Volume I. All volumes include reprints of Gould's colorful plates, with scientific names as used by Gould, popular English names of his period, modern scientific nomenclature, and current popular English names and genus of species.
