Hardcover. Condition: Near Very Good. No Jacket. Second Edition. Second edition, hardcover, with fold out plates set in at the back. The book has a lean to the binding, which is shaken with a crack to page 921 but remains solid. The book also has light bumps to the spine ends and cover corners, mild wear to the edges with a short split to the tail of the front, rubbing with a touch of spotting to the boards, slight sunning to the spine, minor smudging to the edges of the text block, and the shadow of a stamp with a previous owner's name penned to the head of the first free end page. Overall, a handsome, Near Very Good copy. Additional photos available upon request.
