Eisenhower" letterhead and dated from Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, December 10, 1963. It is addressed to "Captain Douglas Fairbanks, USNR (Ret.)" with a New York City address on 58th Street. The letter, signed by Robert L. Schultz, Brig. Gen. (Ret) and Eisnehower's assistant, informs Fairbanks tht due to the "flood of requests" for the book, Eisenhower could only send a signed bookplate (NOTE, UNFORTUNATELY THE SIGNED BOOK PLATE IS NOT PRESENT). Eisenhower's personal account of his first administration as 34th U.S. President.
