Brakell, Typ[ographers], Liverpool, "Formed by Sir John Gerard mainly from Roman Catholics then serving in the Duke of Lancaster's. The regiment sponsored 32nd Company IY in the Boer War. It was converted to artillery after WW1 and served in WW2 as 106th LAA Regiment. 106th was disbanded quite early in WW2 but its duplicate 149th (Lancashire Yeomanry) served as an anti-tank regiment throughout the war. In 1947 106th was reconstituted as 306th HAA and 149th was redesignated 349th LAA." [From Victor Sutcliffe's on-line revision of White's Bibliography. ] Scarce, Cleveland Public Library only on OCLC. This copy inscribed on the front free endpaper by the compiler, "To Major Richard Trappes-Lomax, Lancashire Hussars. With the compliments of the Compiler, October, 1917." Loosely inserted two 2pp. ALS, one dated in 1917 presenting the volume, the other in 1923 discussing the history and the possibility of expanding the account to include Great War service. Also three identical sections of the Army and Navy Gazette Simkin supplement, 1899, of the Yeomanry Brigade showing the Regiment.
