Bachmeyer, from Lucille Hook, with the steady fondness of - [SIGNED] Gustav Eckstein, May 1/40." Very Good condition. Clean, square, tight, unmarked copy. Dr. Bachmeyer was Superintendent of Cincinnati General Hospital from 1915-1934, and Dean of the Medical School there, 1925 through 1933. Subsequently Bachmeyer became dean and director at the University of Chicago. Dr. Bachmeyer served as president of the American Hospital Association. With Gerhard Hartman, he edited THE HOSPITAL IN MODERN SOCIETY (New York, Commonwealth Fund, 1943.) Established by the University of Chicago in his honor is the Arthur C. Bachmeyer Memorial Address, featured annually at the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) Congress on Healthcare Management. It was in Cincinnati that the author met Bachmeyer. Eckstein earned his M. D. degree at the University of Cincinnati and in 1922 joined its faculty as instructor in physiology. Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Hardcover with no DJ. Black cloth over boards with black lettering on brown plate attached to spine. No date on title page. Copyright page dated 1943. Stated Third Edition. Publisher Code: F - S. 326 pages. Boards have some minor rubbing and very small scratch marks near bottom edge of rear board. Light toning to spine and top edge of rear board. Top and bottom edges of spine has some fraying. Black lettering on spine plate attached to spine is still neat and legible. Light toning at gutters of front and rear endpapers. Pages are neat and tidy with text clean and legible. Binding strong with no missing pages. Very Good condition.
