The Folio Society began as a membership-based book club but then expanded its range to publish multiple titles in fiction and non-fiction; science fiction and fantasy; biography and autobiography (from the publisher's web-site). Augmented with plentiful illustrations drawn from the British Library manuscript Cotton Nero E II, pt. 2 and Royal 20 c. viii, finely illuminated copies of the Grandes Chroniques of France probably dating from the last quarter of the 14th century.
