Condition: near fine. 1st Edition. xviii,(2),295pp. Octavo. Original black cloth with gilt title on spine. Frontis portrait. 6 maps and diagrams in text. 66 black and white illustrations. A touch of foxing on the fore edge of the text block. Top edge a bit dust soiled. Very clean clean overall. Original illustrated dust wrapper which has a few minor closed tears and a bit of wear at the top and bottom of the spine. Also a small moisture mark on the rear panel. near fine Arctic Biblio. 19235 with the assistance of Dr. Fritz Loewe and translated by Winifred M Deans. Very scarce in wrapper and especially so in such nice condition.
