Hardcover. Condition: Fine. 1st Edition. Duke University Chanticleer 1991 Yearbook Volume LXXIX edited by Vimla E. Gupta 304pp. black and white photographs. Cream-colored cloth-covered boards, with debossed title on cover. An exceptional yearbook beyond the usual, because it chronicles, over 22 pages, the national championship season of the Duke Blue Devils men's basketball team, who gave coach Mike Krzyzewski his first of five national titles. Powered by the trio of Christian Laettner, Bobby Hurley and Grant Hill, the Blue Devils overcame the seemingly unstoppable UNLV Running Rebels in the semi-final game 79-77. UNLV, the defending NCAA champions, were undefeated all season with a 45-game winning streak until their loss to Duke, who went on to defeat Kansas 72-65 in the championship game. FINE, very clean and bright, with no markings, no writing. This yearbook was never signed by anyone and appears unread. Housed in a VERY GOOD slipcase, gray cloth, slight wear with noticeable patches of sunfading and slight wear.
