Each volume illustrated by renown artists, namely Arthur Szyk, Hans Bendix, Fritz Kredel, Edy Legrand, William Moyers, Sylvain Sauvage, Edward Shenton, Malcolm Cameron and the following who have each SIGNED their contributions: Rafaello Busoni, Edward Ardizzone, Fritz Eichenberg, Everett Gee Jackson, Robert Lawson, Ervine Metz. Additionally Jean Hersholt has SIGNED 9 of them. Each volume published in quantities of either 2,000 or 2,500 copies. All volumes numbered either 138 or 214 or 248 or 1339 (but not a married set in the sense that they all went to the same original subscriber between 1949 and 1952).
