Maroon cloth boards with bevelled edges; blind-stamped device and gilt lettering to front and spine. Top edge gilt. Boards rubbed, especially to edges, and with a few small marks; corners bumped; spines discoloured and fraying at ends. Endpapers foxed and toned. A few spots and marks to preliminary pages but almost entirely clean elsewhere. Hinges starting to crack in all volumes; half title and title page in Vol. IV detached but otherwise text blocks remain firmly bound.
