Not library copy, college prize plate to front pastedown, missing plate to page lxxix, some wear to spine edge. (31/4).

Octavo. 4 volumes; Vol. 1: pp. lv, 366, frontispiece photo-intaglio portrait + 3 plates and 1 line drawing; Vol 2: pp. viii, 573, frontispiece portrait + 1 facsimile writing; Vol. 3: pp. ix, 387, frontispiece photo-intaglio portrait + 2 folding plates and 1 line drawing; Vol. 4: pp. viii, 423, 425-493 unopened, (includes Addenda and General Index), 5 - publ. adverts., frontispiece portrait + 1 plate. Volume 5 is the supplement, 1890. Uniform, but without the gilt-stamped front board. The outside hinges are rubbed in a few spots, split in the buckram of front hinge volume 3, all volumes with chipping and light wear to the spine ends, larger chip to the buckram to the spine foot of volume 1. Corners bumped and just general light wear overall, but sill a clean and attractive set. Complete, with the supplemental fifth volume. From the library of Canadian Psychiatrist Richard Maurice Bucke, his bookplate to the first 4 volumes, and inscribed to Bucke from H. Buxton Forman in the fifth volume.

Limited to 1250 numbered copies of which this set is numbered 632 in each of the8 volumes on their limitation pages. . Please note that this is not the signed and numbered edition of 1250 copies, this set is from the numbered edition of 1250 copies without the signatures. All volumes have clear thick Mylar dustjackets on them, but I am not sure if this is how they were published or made for the set afterwards by the previous owner. All volumes have very slight dustsoiling to the outer matte finish grey buckram covers, as is normal, otherwise all volumes are Tight sound unmarked copies in Very Good plus condition. No Signature.
