The fictitious Chatfield's 'strange and sometimes sta…rtling notions', such as free medicine to the poor, are collected here in alphabetical order and headings. Horatio Smith was the novelist friend of Shelley and famously the co-author with his brother of Rejected Addresses. Vol. I xiv, 295pp Vol. II 279pp Approximately 7 ½ inches tall. Condition Report Externally Spine good condition gilt titles, gilt bands, very discoloured. Joints good condition rubbed and worn. Corners good condition bumped and worn with slight loss in places. Boards good condition half leather and marbled boards, some loss to the leather corners, general signs of wear. Page edges good condition top edges slightly darkened, all speckled.
