Printer's code: 1722.465 which I believe indicates that the book was printed in Apr 1965. The book, which was the seventh of the series, was first published in 1942, revised in 1947, and then revised more thoroughly in 1965 by Francis Rose (this edition). There were four different jacket designs. Describing 100 species with 102 illustrations, 48 of which are in full colour. With a six-page Introduction. ***Near fine in light-green textured boards with dark-green titles to the spine and front board. The covers are clean and unmarked, with none of the usual fading to the edges. No creases or tears. Corners sharp. No bumps. No reading lean to the binding. Page block edges clean. Internally the book is also near fine with no inscriptions or other annotations. Printed on nice quality glossy paper. No creases or tears. No cracking to the binding. Spine tight. ***In a near fine colour illustrated dustwrapper, which has not been price-clipped, retaining the original publisher's printed price of 5/- net. The dustwrapper is complete, with no chips, creases or tears - just some rubbing at the extremities, commensurate with age and handling, in particular at the top and tail of the spine. The back panel is very clean.
