Illustrated with portraits engraved on steel, from daguerreotypes of the greatest actors of the age. Bindings are tight with wear to the edges except for the front board of Tragedies which is present but detached. End pages are soiled, previous owner's bookplate inside, pages generally clean; plates with original tissue guards has caused some age toning or foxing primarily to the edges of some plates but not all. Nice vintage gift set for Shakespeare fans in better than good state given the age.
