John Philpot Curran (1750 - 1817) was an Irish orator, politician, lawyer, and judge known for his eloquent speeches. Bound in three quarter brown leather over marbled paper covered boards with dark brown and gilt title label to spine. Chipping to leather at foot of spine, bump to edge of rear board, wear to edges, and rubbing to boards. Rear hinge is starting to crack with a three inch split in the leather. Minor foxing throughout, heaviest on early and late pages. Ownership name in pen to front endpaper and a few small smudge marks / spots of soiling to margins of some pages.
