Paperback. Condition: Good. The beach is a magical place - a place where children are free to play, build, and discover. We here at Laughing Elephant have scoured our extensive library for vintage illustrations that depict children and the sea. In this book, we pair these images with a simple text that celebrates the beach from a child's perspective. By the Sea includes illustrations from artists such as Pelagie Doane, Henriette Willebeek Le Mair, Millicent Sowerby, Susan Beatrice Pearse, and Jessie Willcox Smith. These illustrations are nostalgic, charming, unique, and so full of life and color that you feel like you're standing at the shore! By the Sea also includes easy-to-read text that makes it perfect for younger children to peruse. This book, compiled specially by Laughing Elephant books, is perfect for young readers and nostalgic adults alike. Read together to prepare for vacations or keep it on the shelf to remind you of the beauty of the beach and childhood. It is the perfect bookish companion, reminiscent of sunny vacation days and childhood freedom.…

Paperback. Condition: Very Good. This book is a result of an effort made by us towards making a contribution to the preservation and repair of original classic literature. In an attempt to preserve, improve and recreate the original content, we have worked towards: 1. Type-setting & Reformatting: The complete work has been re-designed via professional layout, formatting and type-setting tools to re-create the same edition with rich typography, graphics, high quality images, and table elements, giving our readers the feel of holding a 'fresh and newly' reprinted and/or revised edition, as opposed to other scanned & printed (Optical Character Recognition - OCR) reproductions. 2. Correction of imperfections: As the work was re-created from the scratch, therefore, it was vetted to rectify certain conventional norms with regard to typographical mistakes, hyphenations, punctuations, blurred images, missing content/pages, and/or other related subject matters, upon our consideration. Every attempt was made to rectify the imperfections related to omitted constructs in the original edition via other references. However, a few of such imperfections which could not be rectified due to intentionalunintentional omission of content in the original edition, were inherited and preserved from the original work to maintain the authenticity and construct, relevant to the work. We believe that this work holds historical, cultural and/or intellectual importance in the literary works community, therefore despite the oddities, we accounted the work for print as a part of our continuing effort towards preservation of literary work and our contribution towards the development of the society as a whole, driven by our beliefs. We are grateful to our readers for putting their faith in us and accepting our imperfections with regard to preservation of the historical content. HAPY READING. …

Hardback. Condition: Very Good. Most of us know about snow people already, but this book will make us fall in love with them. Laughing Elephant's 2005 publication The Truth About Easter Rabbits was so popular that we followed it up with this survey of snow men, snow women, snow children, and snow animals. The Truth About Snow People uses a great variety of sources to provide a comprehensive view of snow peoples' creation, personalities, appearances, hobbies, family lives, and even what happens to them after they melt. The book includes old postcards, Victorian scraps, and pictures from antique picture books, children's readers, and magazines from Laughing Elephant's storied collection. This book delves into the secret life of snowmen, women, children, and animals through vintage illustrations and images from Laughing Elephant's vault. This is the perfect book for the winter season, snowy days, and creative kids. Give it to your child and watch a new world of imagination open up for them.…
