Keith played a major role in development of the first magnum revolver cartridge, the .357 Magnum. He was also responsible for the .44 Magnum and .41 Magnum cartridges, as well as a family of bullet designs, with a distinctive semi-wadcutter shape, that are today known as "Keith style" bullets. . According to Gene Brown who wrote about the author in his book titled "Elmer Keith, The Other Side of a Western Lengend", there was only 100 of these leather signed copies printed and they remain a VERY RARE find.
