Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. No Jacket. 1st Edition. I am pleased to offer a lovely little booklet issued to help celebrate the Sesquicentennial of the Battle of Yorktown Virginia (1781-1931). This small and thin hard cover book (6 ½ x 8 ¾ inches 11 pages) was published by Garrett & Massie of Richmond Virgina dated 1931 and the First Edition. It consists of a presentation of twelve pencil-drawn plates of different historic landmarks around Yorktown Virginia drawn by Elmo Jones. It is bound in a sort of batik cloth with a quarter spine in gray cloth and a paste-down title label on the cover. Local people will want to have this small treasure which commemorates the surrender by General Cornwallis and the British Forces to General George Washington and the French Fleet during the Revolutionary War. Condition: This book is in very good condition. The hard covers are perhaps a bit dust dulled but still quite attractive. There has been some faint bumping to the lower corners. The paste-down title panel is wholly intact. Inside a former owner has left her neatly inked signature on the front endpaper but that is the only mark I found in the book. Both hinges are intact, and the binding is tight and sound. This book is not ex-library or a remainder.
