For example, the prayer for October 15th 1969--the day of massive nationwide anti-war protests on American campuses--is the occasion for a message of healing the generational divide in America: "O thou who hast granted youth to see visions and age to dream dreams, hel each to understand the other. May those who are younger not resent the disciplin of learning no reject the wisdom which is brought only by experience." In addition to the daily prayers, there are four state funeral sermons preached by Elson. including Wendell Willkie and Dwight D. Eisenhower. As a side note, Elson connection with Eisenhower went back to 1945 at least. After the German surrender, he was asked to represent Dwight D. Eisenhower before the Consistory, a ruling body of the German Protestant church, in order to determine how the German Church would be rebuilt. Ships fast with tracking. Inscribed by Author(s).
