Faisant en quelque sorte la revue de presse de son propre recueil, l'autrice a transcrit une multitude d'extraits d'éloges et de critiques provenant de personnalités diverses : journalistes, critiques littéraires, figures mondaines, amis Yan de Mayame, Lucien Morel, Sigmund von Munchhausen, le baron et la baronne de La Morinerie, la princesse de Rohan, Marchioni, Marcaggi, Maurice Letellier, Campiglia, Auguste Dorchain, Tassio de Nicolaï, Henri Bremond, Emile Buloz, Michel Tavera, madame Jacobson, madame Blank, Pierre Guitet Vauquelin, Madame Moniot, Abel Letalle, Faggia, I. A. Giustiniani ces extraits sont issus de revues littéraires et de correspondances personnelles. A part l'avis dissonant de Sigmund von Munchhausen ("insuffisance de science du rythme ; mélange de mètres d'une gaucherie et d'une étrangeté étonnantes ; livre dégageant un ennui noble et distingué"), et des jugements occasionnellement plus réservés sur quelques vers, tous s'accordent à louer les talents de poétesse d'Emma Di Rienzi : "Délectable volume qui fut une surprise et presqu'un révélation ; exception de la littérature féminine ; exempt de chevilles ; asbence de remplissages pour arriver à la rime ; netteté d'expression ; chaque mot ayant sa valeur propre, faisant image" (L'Inconnu - une revue littéraire dont nous n'avons trouvé trace ?) ; "C'est peut-être le plus beau recueil qui soit sorti d'une plume féminine tant il y a de la variété et de la puissance d'évocation."
