Moderate wear and soiling to boards, paper spine title eroded away, binding mildly starting at frontispiece recto, block remains solid, minor circular dampstain to upper fore-edge side of first 15pp yet does not affect text, owner name to front pastedown, foxing to endpapers. Good copy.

Bevan, 19 Wimpole Street", a later owner's address stamp "Glenside, Woburn Sands" to the front free endpaper. Frontispiece plus numerous black and white illustrations. Slight cracking to the hinges though they are holding, mild wear to the extremities.
