Contemporary wine-red morocco with luxurious gilt on boards, spine and inside borders, silk-endpapers, all edges gilt. Slightly rubbed and bumped (the borders and outer joints a little bit…more); few and faint foxings; the folded plate with a small tear of 2 inches. The contemporary additional plates and portraits (some of them are mounted, using the interleaved pages as passe-partouts) are mostly fine, deep impressions. The books come along with a contemporary, original and coloured sketch (a castle by the riverside; 13x25,5 cm: borders chipped; glue-remainder of a plastic strip on the white margin). All together this is an overwhelmingly beautiful and unique copy. EN.
