Couverture souple. Condition: Très bon. Edition originale. in-8, (15) pp., pp. V-XXXII, 161 pp., broché, couverture muette moderne (papier vergé), très bon état. Edition originale. Stearns, Old Age in the Old Regime: Image and Experience in Eighteenth- Century France, pp. 121-122 : "It is in the section devoted to the physiology of the aged that Esparron's debt to Bichat is most evident. [.] Esparron's book is most noteworthy for its analysis of the nervous system, and it is exactly in that area that the geriatric physicians of the first half of the nineteenth century made their most important contributions. P.J.G. Cabanis's study of the nervous system enabled him to write a chapter on the influence of age on ideas."; Proceedings of the Annual Meeting of the Western Society for French History, 1985, vol. 13-14 : "In drawing out the social consequences of physiological decline, Esparron went beyond Bichat's ideas." ; E. Boyd et al., Origins of the study of human growth, pp. 276-277 ; J.P.
