A beautiful book that includes discussions of the outbreak of sexual hysteria at Loudon, Sade and the French Revolution etc. The satirical decorative vignettes and head and tailpieces in a Classical style, span the anti-clerical, blasphemous and even mildly zoophiliac. 219024.
