Reruchs, el autor menciona en su libro una carta de Fernando el católico, fechada en 1490, en la que se dirige al concejo de Sevilla para evitar que se cacen «puercos monteses e osos e venad…os e gamos e otra cualquiera salvagina» en lomo de grullos, coto situado en la margen derecha del Guadalquivir, entre Sevilla y Doñana. El libro de la montería no había mencionado en las Rocinas (Doñana) más que jabalíes. Siglo y medio más tarde aún había osos en las proximidades. Belmonte Clemente fue miembro correspondiente de la Real academia de la historia (1866), ingresó en la Real academia sevillana de buenas letras (1888) y perteneció a diferentes instituciones científicas. Edición de 200 ejemplares no venales para los socios del club.
