Erste und einzige Ausgabe. - VD 1…7, 23:249754Q; Jantz 3357; Ornamentstichsammlung Berlin 3111; Lipperheide Sbe 8; Faber du Faur, 347a; Hollstein 39, 93, 391-400. - Seltenes repräsentatives Festbuch, das drei Jahre nach dem Tod von Ernst "dem Frommen" erschien. - Die prachtvollen Tafeln von Jacob von Sandrart zeigen eine Büste, ein großes Porträt, die Aufbahrung, den Sarg, den Leichenzug, davon eine mit dem Innenhof von Schloss Friedenstein in Gotha, sowie Gedenkmünzen. - "One of the great memorial volumes of the Baroque" (Jantz). - Mit dem von Kaspar von Stieler verfassten Gedicht "Hoch-Fürstlichen Ehren-Altar". - Frontispiz bis an die Einfassungslinien beschnitten, Titel alt aufgezogen, die ersten 10 Blatt, sowie das Festgedicht mit alt restauriertem Loch am oberen Bugrand, dadurch etwas Textverlust. Im Bug teils fleckig, trotz allem gutes Exemplar. // Folio. Binding of the 19th century with new spine in half calf and slight gilding, (paper on the boards slightly rubbed). - First and only edition. - VD 17, 23:249754Q; Jantz 3357; Ornamentstichsammlung Berlin 3111; Lipperheide Sbe 8; Faber du Faur, 347a; Hollstein 39, 93, 391-400. - Rare representative festival book, which appeared three years after the death of Ernst "dem Frommen". - The magnificent panels by Jacob von Sandrat are showing a bust, a large portrait, the laying out of the sarcophagus, the funeral procession, one of them with the courtyard of Friedenstein Castle in Gotha, as well as commemorative coins. - "One of the great memorial volumes of the Baroque" (Jantz). - - With the poem "Hoch-Fürstlichen Ehren-Altar" written by Kaspar von Stieler. - Frontispiece trimmed to the edging lines, title old mounted, the first 10 leaves, as well as the festive poem with old restored hole at the upper gutter margin, thereby some loss of text. The gutter partly spotted, in spite of everything good copy.
