Mild age toning throughout, with some toning toward the edges of exhibit plates at rear of book. Binding sound. A political activist and labor leader, Tom Mooney was convicted, along with Warren K. Billings, of the San Francisco Preparedness Day Bombing of 1916, in which ten people died. Mooney became one of the most famous political prisoners in America, as it was clear that he had been convicted through the use of perjured testimony and falsified evidence. The district attorney of San Francisco, Charles M. Fickert, prosecuted Mooney and Billings and authored this report, was believed to have coached witnesses, although he was never found guilty of any of the charges brought against him in 1919. Mooney and Billings were both eventually pardoned in 1939. This is a scarce copy of the original report by Fickert which is believed to have been published in 1918, and was later reprinted by the California State Printing Office in 1932. First Edition. Soft Cover. Very Good.
