Inner hinges are sound and not split. 202 pp 12mo. The is a book of 67 poems by the author. He was an American journalist and bibliophile who also wrote light verse for adults and children. The best years of his life were spent in Chicago as contributing editor to The Chicago Record. In his daily column of Sharps and Flats appeared his most characteristic verse, which was later collected to form this book. Published in 1889, this anthology captures the essence of the American Midwest, drawing inspiration from Field's own childhood experiences in the region. A clean very presentable copy.
