Vintage publicity photograph of Geraldine Fitzgerald, 1943, with a mimeo snipe affixed to the verso. From the archive of noted Hollywood still photographer Ray Jones. Born in Wisconsin on January 1, 1901, Jones worked for Paramount Pictures in the early 1930s, and went on to be the head of the still photography department at Universal Pictures in 1935, where he worked well into the 1950s. Irish stage and screen actress Geraldine Fitzgerald appeared in over 40 films between 1934 and 1988. She was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for "Wuthering Heights" (1939), and appeared in such classics as "Dark Victory" (1939), "Watch on the Rhine" (1943), and "Wilson" (1944), as well as appearing in "The Pawnbroker" (1964), "Harry and Tonto" (1974), "Arthur" (1981), and "Poltergeist II: The Other Side" (1986). In 2020 Fitzgerald was listed as number 30 on "The Irish Times" list of Ireland's greatest film actors. 8 x 10 inches. Near Fine.
